Cranbury, New Jersey – January 27, 2012IHSE USA, LLC today announced that new and upgraded products for its high definition HD-KVM matrix switch solutions will be commercially available at the NAB 2012 show in Las Vegas, NV. Making their NAB debut will be the Draco Tera 48 and 80 series of switch matrix frames for high definition DVI and SD/HD/3G-SDI, multi-format versions of the Draco Tera extenders for CAT-x and the new XV™ series of fiber optic extenders to connect devices up to 10km from the switch fabric.  A key feature of these new switch products is their ability to be 100% full frame compatible with the current Draco Tera 160 and 288 enterprise series of HD-KVM matrix switch products – the only commercially available HD-KVM technology for automatically detecting whether a connected devices should be configured as an input and output port. Now offered in four frame sizes, the Draco tera offers non-blocking switch technology to handle digital video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz, 1080p60 and 2K as well as supporting USB 2.0, bi-directional audio, and serial data interfaces, while providing for a wide range of extender modules to fit any application.

First introduced in 2010, the Draco Tera has quickly become the only intelligent choice for enterprise-level high definition HD-KVM matrix switching. Equipped with a unique Flex-Port technology, the Draco tera offers total flexibility of input and output ports. Any conceivable combinations of IO port configurations are achievable within the maximum number of available ports.  By using intelligent video encoding, video and data signals are optimized for maximum bandwidth usage to provide the most outstanding visual display available. When there is a need to deliver full motion video, the Draco tera can distribute full screen moving video up to 1080p60, in real time, without artifacts and near zero latency. The modular structure offers the freedom to scale your switch ports as your needs evolve and the frame can easily be mixed with CATx or fiber optics.

Operations of the connected Draco extenders simply requires the device to be powered and connected to the matrix switch. As soon as the Draco extender is connected to the matrix switch it is registered in the CPU with a clearly defined identification number (ID).  Depending on whether the physical device is a console or CPU extender module, the ID number is remembered. This powerful feature allows the Draco extender module to be moved to any other port without affecting setup and configuration between sources and display devices.

Each Draco tera system contains an internal CPU that allows users to control functions via an on screen display (OSD), a software user interface (GUI), or an RS-232 serial interface.  Additionally, the Draco tera can easily be configured through any third party control system such as Crestron or AMX.

Other significant features of the Draco tera system is instant switching between different CPU’s.  The Draco tera technology allows switch commands in milliseconds which practically eliminate the annoying delay and image re-sync problems found in IP-based switching solutions.  It is also possible to combine both CATx and Fiber Ports in the same switch frame to easily combine Draco CATx extenders and Draco fiber optic extenders within the same system.

“The Draco tera series of matrix switches saw tremendous market acceptance in 2011,” stated Dr. Enno Littman, COO of IHSE GmbH. “Since the emergence of large high definition KVM switch solutions, customers have found the Draco tera to be the best professional-grade solution to offer across-the-board superior image quality, flexibility and cost-effectiveness. IHSE technologies meet all these criteria, and the company is committed to maintaining and improving our existing products, as well as developing new products to serve the latest industry needs.”

Visitors to NAB will also be able to see new offerings for SD/HD/3G-SDI video routing, USB 2.0 high speed embedded extenders, and Draco tera’s specialized SFP modules for long distance fiber connections and mini HD-BNC options.  IHSE USA experts will be available at booth SL10724 to demonstrate these products as well as assist with any new or existing project requirements.
