PureLink to the Rescue! ...in Retail & Digital Signage
Posted on Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Even well thought-out projects can be derailed by unexpected setbacks during the integration or execution phase. No matter the challenge, there is a dynamic and powerful solution driven by PureLink™ and customized to fit your exact needs.

In Retail & Digital Signage

Digital signage is one of the most powerful and impactful forms of advertising there is. Today, more and more retailers are choosing digital signage solutions to communicate quickly and effectively with their customers - through messaging that is both interactive and compelling. Digital signage in the retail space is achieved through flat panel displays, interactive kiosks, and projection displays all bound together by reliable, long-distance digital signal extension systems that are flexible enough to meet the store's design needs.

The Challenge

The transition to digital interfacing has created various levels of EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) implementation for HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort, requiring a successful EDID “handshake” between a display and a source to establish a connection. One key area where installers will commonly face connectivity issues in a point-to-point extension system is establishing proper EDID communication, with failed transmission resulting in mismatched resolutions, color blocks, and even complete signal loss.

PureLink to the Rescue! EDID Management at Every Output

PureLink's HDTools™ line of HDMI and DVI over Fiber extenders offers the only digital A/V signal transmission solution with built-in EDID management. The HDTools™ exclusive Auto-EDID feature captures and stores EDID information in the transmitter module, eliminating the need for additional EDID emulation devices. As a video display is connected to the receiver output, the transmitter immediately reads the pre-set EDID data and automatically adjusts the display settings. The result is a quick, seamless transmission from source to display without any disparities in the image size, position, or aspect ratio.

The installer's choice HDX II and OLC II extension systems work with fiber only to extend high definition video and audio signals up to 5000 feet with full HDCP compliance. Featuring compact transmitter and receivers modules at each end, HDTools™ HDMI and DVI over Fiber provide the most flexible and dependable signal extension solutions that are easy to implement and deliver optimal picture display every time.
