IHSE USA introduces redundant path extenders for dual link DVI, dual-head DVI and HDMI sources

IHSE USA, a global provider of ultra-fast and secure KVM matrix switch and extender solutions for broadcast related environments and government agencies expands the vario extender line with new redundant path extenders for dual-link DVI, dual-head DVI and HDMI sources. The 481 Series supports HDMI up to 1080p60 and the 482 Series supports either dual-link DVI up to 2560 x 2048 @60Hz or two single link DVI sources up to 1920 x 1200@60Hz. Other signals supported are USB-HID, Digital Audio, Analog Audio and RS-232. IHSE USA’s redundant extender solutions deliver significant value in a host of applications; from a fully redundant point-to-point extender operation to a full redundant matrix system.

Redundancy in KVM extenders enables primary and secondary computer-to-workstation extender links in the event of a lost signal on the primary link. Any worker who inherently requires high performance availability of critical path data or is involved in mission-critical operations will benefit from KVM data path redundancy. Redundant KVM extenders offer significant value: they need little or no maintenance; they are self-healing systems and, thanks to fast recovery times, can save money over the long term—even if a relatively small number of breaks occur to disrupt communication flow. IHSE USA’s KVM redundancy extenders can also provide different paths for users on a distributed switch system or in a parallel point-to-point for a workstation environments.

The impact of lost signals in a matrix switch can be a significant disruption of service resulting in lost revenue and un-scheduled downtime. As a common practice for broadcast infrastructures, patch panels are used to by-pass the primary source transmission path, but with IHSE’s redundant path extenders, patch panels are no longer a necessity. IHSE KVM extenders can offer redundancy at the source (transmitter), at the workstation (receiver), or both. In the case of an interconnection failure the redundant link ensures continuous and uninterrupted communications between the transmitter and receiver unit.

Command and control rooms, network operating centers (NOC’s) and urgent response centers must provide superior service to their users and clients and for these types of systems, IHSE USA’s line of redundant KVM extenders delivers significant value from day one. When you consider the direct and indirect costs of unplanned downtime, it becomes clear that making the investment in KVM redundancy is a smart strategy.
