Kortrijk, Belgium, 10 February 2022 – Global visualization and collaboration leader Barco presents its 2021 annual report, building further on the integrated format that was already kicked off last year. The 2021 report is available on a digital platform and provides a compelling and holistic view of our business's current state, encapsulating both our financial and non-financial outcomes.
A successful formula
Last year, we replaced our traditional annual financial and sustainability reports with a single integrated report, providing a more unified view of how we create and sustain value in the short, medium and long term.
"The 2020 report received positive feedback, which has motivated us to step up our efforts in 2021," says Carl Vanden Bussche, VP Investor Relations at Barco. "We finetuned our KPIs, increased transparency, and sharpened our content. The goal was to make the report even more integrated, inclusive and widely accessible than last year. We want it to be informative and a pleasure to read, a translation of what Barco is all about today and in future."
New this year is an integrated data pack, that covers all publicly available ESG metrics in one single document and spans the last 3 years. Next to a full review of the planet, people and communities chapter, including a first EU taxonomy disclosure, the 2021 annual report also brings a first limited assurance on a number of selected (non-financial) planet-related KPIs.
Towards even more advanced integrated reporting
Integrated reporting is a journey of continuous improvement. Carl Vanden Bussche says: "What we have been doing in the past year and intend to continue in future, is to gradually make integrated thinking central in our company. This means that we commit to value creation in the long term and welcome all our stakeholders into the discussion. We feel that this way of working fits well with Barco, so we are satisfied with the result."
The 2021 annual report builds further upon the Value Creation Model, based on the six Value Capitals, that was adopted in the 2020 report. At its basis lie reporting principles recommended by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). It also serves as a gateway to further deepdives on our corporate website.
